That's the way how the Coin configurator works

NEW: Video-Tutorial

After the configurator has loaded there are different features available to design the mypersonalGeocoin in a flexible way.

Design coins

1. Textdesign

1.1 (simple horizontal) Text

a) Content: Overwrite the existing text "Your Text" with your own ideas or delete the text if you don't want it.

b) Fontcolor: click into a colorfield to select another color. You can also enter a color in hexadecimal if you know the value. (i.e. #FF00FF). To color single letters, words or lines simply select them and then click on the wanted color (see image 1.1)

c) Typeface: Chose the proper font from the list. Attention: Not all fonts support special characters!

d) Fontsize: Change the size by clicking the textarea in the right lower corner and by dragging it smaller or bigger. Additional alternatives are possible by setting the line spacing and alignment.

e) Position: can be chosen freely by clicking and moving the text. An exact position in the middle of the coin can be achieved by clicking on the buttons.

1.2 Round text

a) Content: Overwrite the existing text with your own text by clicking into the textarea (in the configurator at the right side) and entering your own text. Hint: with special characters i.e. * + -- you are able to create nice frames! (see image 1.2, image 2.2)

b) Fontcolor: click into a colorfield to select another color. You can also enter a color in hexadecimal if you know the value. (i.e. #FF00FF).

c) Typeface: Chose the proper font from the list.

2. Background

2.1 Color gradient
A 2 color gradient  from white (inside) to black (outside) is set as a preselection. Both colors can be changed by clicking on the boxes in the color bar. (see image 2.1 and image 2.2)

2.2 Plain background
To get a plain background you have to set both color fields to the same color.

2.3 Own motifs

a) Allowed files: The only allowed file formats are .jpg / .jpeg / .png / .gif and must not have any special characters or blanks in the filename.

b) Quality: The uploaded motif should have at least the sze of 620x620 pixels or more. A bad image quality won't get better during the printing!

c) Enlarge motif: the own motif is shown in the round stickerarea after teh upload and be resized by dragging the lower right corner. Hint: according to the motif it looks much better when the motif is enlarged in such a way that the sticker is filled completely. (see image 2.3.1 and image 2.3.2)

d) Move motif: the uploaded image can be moved by clicking on it.

e) Multiple motifs: you can upload multiple motifs, that are "stacked" in chronological order. (see image 2.3.3)

f) Delete motif: when moving the mouse over an uploaded image a "X" appears at the top right corner of the image. The motif is removed by clicking n that "X".

2.4 Advanced level: own motif with background and transparency

Very complex ideas can be achieved by using own motifs with transparent areas. Precondition is a transparent image (only .gif or .png is possible) file (.jpg can't be transparent!)

A guide how to create such files can be found here. Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_compositing

It is important to use a sensible upload order because the image, that was uploaded as the last one, will be shown in the foreground.
By using transparency the underlying motifs and the background shine through which creates beautiful effects. (Example see image 2.4)
